Our Mission

We are committed to our community at large

Our mission is to provide education and outreach to address the needs of youth, adults and seniors in the metro Louisville community with special emphasis on the Cane Run/Shagbark community. A holistic approach will be used to develop and implement programs to address issues that disproportionately affect high-risk and disadvantaged populations within the community including youth development, education, research and service.

Our Programs

We offer several programs which work to build the social, emotional, cognitive and physical capabilities of youth from ages 4 to 21. We want youth to experience more than video games and couch lounging. We’re here to challenge them to be their very best person!

Camps

We’re building strong youth through love-centered community and life-changing experiences. Come join the fun! Students are loving our activities and camp atmosphere. This is why we have nearly a 75% retention rate year after year!

Healthy Cooking

These days it seems like everyone wants to be a chef — even kids. In recent years, a number of cooking schools have popped up across the Louisville area, offering lessons for people who crave the ability to make their own gourmet meals.

Field Trips

Our youth get a chance to visit all of the icons of Louisville (well, most of them). Through generous donations from our sponsors, we have visited the Louisville Science Center, The Slugger Museum, Humana office locations, The Louisville ZSoo, and even the Metro Louisville Council. You never know where you’ll see us!

Our Programs Matter to Them

Highland Park CDCs mission is to provide the highest quality childcare, academic, recreational, and cultural activities to individuals and families in Louisville and beyond.

How do we offer awesome summer programs and leadership opportunities to Louisville and surrounding youth? Through YOUR generous donations, of course! We’ll be counting on you to donate on October 1st. It’s only one day, but your amount could really make a difference in the life of a child for the entire summer…and an impact for their life!

Until then, you may send your donations directly to 3500 Shanks Lane, Louisville, KY  40216.
